Bridal Alterations – Your Fitting Appointment at Elas Bräute

Please read the following information carefully before booking your appointment:

• The ideal time for your fitting: Our seamstresses are particularly busy during wedding season. We therefore recommend booking your first fitting approximately 8 to 12 weeks before your wedding.
• Please do not wait for an email confirming that your dress has arrived. In most cases, we do not send a separate notification.
• Instead, we ask our brides to book their fitting appointment in advance. We will make sure your dress is available in time for the appointment. If there are any issues with your order or delivery, we will contact you.
• If you do not hear from us, everything is on track and your fitting can go ahead as planned.
• Your collection appointment will then be arranged directly with your seamstress during your fitting.

• If your fitting is with Verena: Please allow approximately one hour for your appointment.
  You will also collect your finished wedding dress from our bridal boutique.

• If your fitting is with Steffi: Please allow approximately 45 minutes for your appointment. Your final collection and, if required, an additional fitting will take place at Steffi’s alterations studio in Wiesbaden.

• Please include the following information when booking:
  1. Alterations already discussed with us: Please mention any alterations that were agreed during your bridal appointment and that your seamstress should know about. This could include, for example, adding sleeves or making other changes to the design of the dress beyond standard alterations such as adjusting the length or fit.
  2. The name of your wedding dress: You can find the dress name on your purchase agreement.
  3. Your wedding date: Please let us know the date of your wedding.
  4. Where your dress is currently stored: Please let us know whether your dress is: a reordered gown currently being stored at our boutique, a sample or sale dress that you already have at home, or a dress that you already collected because your wedding was postponed. If your dress is already at home, please remember to bring it with you to your fitting.

• What to bring to your fitting: Please make sure to bring your wedding shoes with you. Your seamstress will need them in order to determine and pin the correct hem length. If you would also like to see how your dress works with specific underwear, bridal accessories or other items, you are of course welcome to bring those along as well.

• Can I bring someone with me? Yes. You are welcome to bring one guest to your bridal fitting.

• Alterations costs and payment: We charge a €42 fitting fee for appointments held at our boutique. This means that your seamstress will not charge you separately for the time spent on your initial fitting at Elas Bräute. The actual alterations are charged at €55 per hour. Your seamstress will invoice you separately when you collect your finished dress. You can then conveniently pay the invoice by bank transfer from home. 

• Your fitting appointment: Please arrive on time for your appointment. Particularly during the busy wedding season, fitting appointments are often scheduled back-to-back, so arriving promptly helps us make sure you have the full amount of time reserved for you.
